South Sudan Declaration opf Independence
On 9th July 2011 the world welcomed South Sudan as an independent nation into the world community. South and North Sudan had been at war for decades inflicting heavy casualties and destroying infrastructure. With the birth of a new nation, comes fresh hope for a better future.

This website is not affiliated in any way with the new nation, however hopes to make the challenges it faces open to a wider audience. Particularly challenges affecting South Sudan's child and youth population.

As the world's newest nation celebrates its independence from the north and embarks on a new chapter in its history, neighbouring countries in the Horn of Africa are experiencing their worst drought and famine conditions for more than sixty years. Hundreds of thousands of Somalis have fled across the borders in search of food and care, overwhelming already hard pressed humanitarian aid efforts.
